It's a Gas to be a Crazy -
It's a Devious Delight -
You can listen to eyrie voices
a'whispering in the night
and watch out for the Faces
appearing on your wall
and gaze upon the Shadows
a'marching through the hall.
And the Very Special Logic,
that Craziness can bring,
can give you abstract answers
to so many peculiar things.
In a world that's going mental
you could make yourself a Star,
if you ignore the silly overtones
and gaze on from afar.
Then Death may become your friend
instead of being foe
and take you to The Valley
where the Sane Ones never go.
You may learn of Sacred Secrets
which are hidden Underground
and gain insights into Mysteries
that no one else has found.
Now some things look so much better
when they are hidden by the dark.
Reality becomes A Nasty Thing
when its Brutal, Grim and Stark.
So if you need A Refuge
when The World gets too unkind,
then creep into that Special Place
that's deep within your mind.
Then shut out all the Sorrow -
Shield yourself from all the Fear -
Switch off the awful cacophony
that keeps screeching at your ear.
Then peep out on the world
through your specially tinted shades
and you might feel quite happy
until the Vision slowly fades ....
